About Prefilled Pod Kit Brands
Prefilled pod kits filled the gap left by disposable vapes almost overnight, with the same brands that built the disposable market, Elf Bar, Lost Mary, SKE, Hayati and others, launching rechargeable versions of their most popular devices. IVG, Elux and Suonon have also built dedicated prefilled pod ranges, alongside newer entrants like Feoba and Dojo by Vaporesso. Each brand's kits pair a reusable battery with a sealed, prefilled pod that clicks into place, so switching flavour is as fast as swapping the pod.
The key difference from a banned disposable is simple: the device itself is rechargeable and reused indefinitely, while only the pod, capped at 2ml of e-liquid under UK TPD rules, is replaced when it runs dry. Some devices achieve very high total puff counts, like the SKE 30K PRO MAX or Suonon Pro X 12K, not by exceeding the 2ml cap on a single pod, but through a multi-pod matrix design where several individually compliant 2ml pods are loaded into one device and used in sequence.
The range spans compact, low-cost starter kits from £5.00 through to higher-capacity multi-pod systems around £30 to £40, so whether you want the cheapest legal entry point or the highest puff count available, there's a genuine option at both ends. Most brands also release refill pods on a similar cadence to how they released disposable flavours, so new flavour drops within an existing device range are common, meaning the format doesn't sacrifice the variety disposables were known for.
How to Choose the Right Prefilled Pod Kit
Starter Kits
Best for: switching from a disposable for the first time, or trying the format cheaply.
Devices like the IVG PRO 12 and entry-level Hayati and SKE kits are typically £5.00 to £12.99 and come with the device and first pod included, making them the lowest-cost way to try prefilled pods before committing further.
High-Capacity Multi-Pod Systems
Best for: heavy vapers who found disposables ran out too quickly.
The SKE 30K PRO MAX and Suonon Pro X 12K use a multi-pod matrix to deliver puff counts well beyond a single 2ml pod, remaining fully TPD compliant since each individual pod stays within the legal cap.
Refill Pods for Existing Devices
Best for: anyone who already owns a compatible device and just needs more pods.
Once you own a device, refill pods from £6.00 to £8.99 are the ongoing cost, and buying the correct pod for your exact device and brand is essential since pods are not interchangeable between manufacturers.
If you are replacing a disposable habit, match your previous puff count and flavour preferences to a device and pod combination here, since most major disposable flavours now have a direct equivalent in prefilled pod form.

How to Use a Prefilled Pod Kit
Step 1: Charge Before First Use
Connect the device to a USB-C charger and allow it to fully charge before using it for the first time, for the best initial performance.
Step 2: Insert the Pod
Remove any protective seals and click the prefilled pod into the device until it locks into place securely.
Step 3: Draw-Activate
Most prefilled pod kits are draw-activated, meaning you simply inhale through the mouthpiece to produce vapour, with no fire button to press.
Step 4: Recharge as Needed
Recharge via USB-C when the battery indicator shows low, keeping the device topped up between pod changes.
Step 5: Replace the Pod
Once flavour fades or the pod runs dry, remove it and click in a new one. The device itself is kept and reused indefinitely.
Unlike a disposable, nothing about the device is thrown away between pods: only the empty pod itself needs replacing, and should go to a WEEE recycling point rather than general waste.
Prefilled Pod Kits vs Disposable Vapes: Key Differences Explained
Disposable vapes have been illegal to sell in the UK since 1 June 2025. Here is how their legal rechargeable replacement compares.
| Feature | Prefilled Pod Kit | Disposable Vape (banned) |
|---|
| Legal status in the UK | Fully legal | Banned for sale since June 2025 |
| Battery | Rechargeable, reused indefinitely | Single-use, discarded with the device |
| What's replaced | Only the empty pod | The entire device |
| Ongoing cost | Lower per ml, pods often cheaper than equivalent disposables | Full device cost every time |
| Environmental impact | Lower: only the pod is waste | Higher: entire device is waste |
| Flavour availability | Most popular former disposable flavours now available | No longer available for sale |
| Best suited for | Anyone who previously used disposables | N/A, no longer a legal option |
Two prefilled pods typically cost around the same as one disposable vape used to, for roughly twice the e-liquid and vaping time, making the ongoing cost noticeably lower than disposables were.
Who Should Buy a Prefilled Pod Kit?
Former Disposable Vape Users
The closest legal match to the disposable experience: similar draw, similar flavours, but rechargeable and TPD compliant, and the only legal option now that disposables are banned from sale.
Vapers Wanting High Puff Counts
Multi-pod systems like the SKE 30K PRO MAX and Suonon Pro X 12K deliver puff counts well beyond a single disposable, legally, without needing to carry multiple devices.
Cost-Conscious Vapers
Lower ongoing cost per ml than disposables, since only the pod is replaced rather than the whole device, meaning the battery cost is paid once rather than repeatedly.
Environmentally Conscious Buyers
A rechargeable battery used across many pods produces far less electronic waste than a new disposable every few days, cutting down on the battery and casing waste disposables were criticised for.

How Long Do Prefilled Pods Last?
A single 2ml pod typically lasts a moderate vaper around 2 to 3 days, broadly similar to how long a standard disposable used to last, since both are built around the same TPD-capped 2ml capacity. Multi-pod systems like the SKE 30K PRO MAX or Suonon Pro X 12K last considerably longer per device, since several individual pods are loaded and used in sequence, often stretching to a week or more of heavy use before the whole set needs replacing. The rechargeable battery itself typically outlasts many pod cycles, often lasting weeks or months before it needs replacing, unlike a disposable where the battery and pod are discarded together. These figures are approximate and based on average usage conditions: puff length, frequency and device wattage all affect how far a pod stretches.
Heavier vapers who found even a standard disposable didn't last a full day are usually best served by a multi-pod system rather than buying single 2ml pods more frequently, since the combined capacity works out more convenient and often cheaper per ml than repeatedly restocking single pods. Lighter vapers, by contrast, may find a single-pod starter kit more than sufficient, with the pod itself outlasting a typical day's use comfortably.
Buying Prefilled Pod Kits in the UK
Prefilled pod kits are fully legal in the UK, unlike the disposable vapes they replaced. To be legally sold, every pod must meet the same requirements as any other refillable vaping hardware: a maximum 2ml capacity, a maximum nicotine strength of 20mg/ml (2%), and MHRA notification before the product is placed on the market. This is the exact regulatory gap that created the prefilled pod category in the first place: disposable vapes and prefilled pod kits both use e-liquid within the same TPD limits, but only the disposable's single-use, non-rechargeable design was banned, not the nicotine strength or capacity itself. Every prefilled pod kit and refill pod sold at Hulme Vapes meets these requirements. Store devices and pods away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, and dispose of empty pods and end-of-life devices at a WEEE recycling point.
Safety & Age Restriction
As with all nicotine-containing products, prefilled pods carry the risk of nicotine dependency and may cause irritation for some users. Vaping products are intended for existing adult smokers and vapers and should be used responsibly.
- Every pod is capped at 2ml capacity and 20mg nicotine strength (2%) under UK TPD regulations.
- Charge devices via USB-C only, and never leave them charging unattended overnight.
- Dispose of empty pods and devices at a WEEE recycling point, never in general waste.
- 18+ only. All Hulme Vapes orders are age verified at checkout, and we do not sell any products to anyone under 18.
Multi-Buy and Prefilled Pod Guidance
Once you've settled on a device, buying refill pods in bulk is the simplest way to bring the ongoing cost down further, since pods bought in packs typically work out cheaper per ml than buying single units. Two prefilled pods generally cost around the same as one former disposable vape did, for roughly double the e-liquid, so the savings compound quickly for anyone who was previously buying disposables regularly. Remember that only the pod needs replacing: your device battery carries over between every pod, so the £5.00 to £12.99 you spend on a starter kit is largely a one-off cost against an ongoing pod expense from £6.00. Keeping a spare pod or two on hand, in a flavour you already know you like, is the simplest way to avoid being caught without a working device the way running out of a disposable used to leave you.
Prefilled Pod Kits: Frequently Asked Questions
Are prefilled pod kits legal in the UK after the disposable vape ban?
Yes. The ban that took effect on 1 June 2025 covers single-use disposable vapes only. Prefilled pod kits are rechargeable devices with a replaceable, TPD-compliant 2ml pod, and remain fully legal for adults aged 18 and over.
How is a prefilled pod kit different from a disposable vape?
A disposable vape is a single-use device thrown away once the battery or e-liquid runs out. A prefilled pod kit uses a rechargeable battery and a swappable pod, so only the pod is replaced while the device itself is reused indefinitely.
How long does a prefilled pod last?
A single 2ml pod typically lasts a moderate vaper 2 to 3 days, similar to a standard disposable. Multi-pod systems last considerably longer per device since several pods are used in sequence.
How much do prefilled pod kits cost?
Starter devices run from £5.00 to around £30 to £40 for high-capacity multi-pod systems, with refill pods typically £6.00 to £8.99. Orders over £50 qualify for free UK delivery.
Are prefilled pods safe to use?
As with all nicotine-containing products, prefilled pods carry the risk of nicotine dependency and may cause irritation for some users. Vaping products are intended for existing adult smokers and vapers and should be used responsibly.
Can devices like the SKE 30K PRO MAX really deliver 30,000 puffs legally?
Yes. High-puff devices don't exceed the 2ml TPD cap on a single pod: they use a multi-pod matrix design, loading several individually compliant 2ml pods into one device and drawing from each in sequence, keeping every pod within the legal limit.
Are prefilled pods refillable myself?
No. Prefilled pods are sealed units designed to be replaced whole once empty, not topped up. This is different from an empty refillable pod or tank, which you fill with your own e-liquid.
Can I use any pod in any device?
No. Pods are brand and model specific, engineered to fit one manufacturer's device exactly. Always buy the pod made for your specific device rather than assuming a pod from a different brand will fit.
Need Help Getting Started with Vaping in the UK?
